Like your piano playing and the back up orchestra is good. Don't kick yourself on the vocal, it isn't the best, but maybe get Alan to do it for you, but its clear and understood. nice mid eight!

maxxpump responds:

I don't know if I'd ever do this live so there is not much point asking him to do this.

I really like Al's reading as you said on the phone, very warm sounding, you're lucky you met him. We will work on a collaboration project and I'll help you with your adaption for live use. But I haven't heard him sing as of yet so I'll see what he's like when he does! Also Ace recording technique probably one of the cleanest I've heard from you, you used the DP-02 to record him? I imagine you used the NT1-A, good budget mic. Best regards!

maxxpump responds:

Once we practice a bit I'll record him doing some singing, then you might be able to use some of the material if you want, but I will have to ask Alan as he is his artist at the end of the day. To be honest I'm not 100% happy with this version yet. But I'm currently going to adapt anyway see what happens. Yes I used the NT1-A and the DP-02, very clean sounding, recorded using headphones and gain at max.

Good composition, not very good use of the VP-550 by the way, Could have used some poly tonal effects as it sounds like you a F'in Dalek or something...

maxxpump responds:

Yeah I've had quite a bit of stick over this vocal, thats why i'm using my older vocoder setup now instead of the VP-550, which went back to davis. I thought it sounded alright when I made it, not so much now, but its got 4000 views which is the most I've ever had on a song on Newgrounds. Just like Dystopian Peace which got the highest viewership on youtube compared to all my other videos, but I hate the song and would never play live.

I remember you making this back in the day, wasn't it for that Brighton festival gig you did? Not bad processing I might add, because I know how DAT's get after a decade let alone two. You also played it
Live with Carl, Daniel and Jeb (Drums and programming on his drum machines? (RIP)), not sure about who you did it with this recording mind. I downloaded it, amazing stuff.

maxxpump responds:

Most of the tapes I own from back then are F'd, so surprised this played back without to much flutter. Yeah this was the one song which we did for Brighton Festival, summer of that year, not this version as the Live one was, unique! What can I say about Jeb mind, poor kid, nearly the anniversary of the car accident as well (it was june 25th 1997) He did the programming for this recording, plus you hear Carls work on this track as well.

respect, hope your well

maxxpump responds:

Thanks fireball, when u get a chance check your phone as I sent you a message.

Also read my reply to the comment above as I'm not going to repeat myself

What can I say, the orchestration is really good, it gets a bit repetitive but If you get a vocal on there, this will be a smashing hit!

maxxpump responds:

Hopefully I can pull this song out the woods with a decent vocal!

I really hear "when I was a boy" by ELO in there, I love it, I hope you find the vocalist you require as I think this is a smashing pop song. What vocalist type will you go for? I've listened to this twice and I think its fantastic. Your singing's not bad either, you shouldn't keep putting your self down this much stuart as your not as bad at singing as you think

maxxpump responds:

I personally hate my voice and don't like singing that much. Im trying to find a female vocalist for this one. Thankyou for your kind comment and yes it was based off that ELO song, you've got a good ear!

This is so sad stuart, i as I said back when you did my girl MX I had no idea how much you loved this girl, and I'm truly sorry to hear she died at such a young age. I wish you luck with your new version you're making and take any advice which is given as you're singing while good, needs some work. Sorry to be blunt, but this is me being a truthful as possible for your own benefit. I hope you can find another vocalist to do your new version as well as that other piece you launched earlier and yesterday "Why I can't decide" (which I thought was fantastic!)

maxxpump responds:

It still affects me to this day fireball, you have no f'ing idea how much it hurt to lose her. It took me years to get over it and it still hurts now. I'm redoing this song in her memory I'm still stuck over composition, but I'll work something out I'm trying to find a male vocalist to do this one. I will be changing the lyrics slightly but it will still be close to the original!

Sweet!!!

This song sounds sweet and is brilliant when it has recently been combined with flash games. but there is somthing bugging me, the mid section (bass mainly) sounds identical (but diffrent pitch) to mauro picotto: pulsar remix. but the first and last sections sound great. Keep up the good work

St0rmChaser responds:

You mean the diffrence between the first and mid section ?.
That is because i used another kinds of samples there.

The first and last parts are practically the same, only the clap is gone at the end.

Thanks for the review :D.
